Production "Magic" in Tres Veces Ana Blog #3
When I first heard about Tres Veces Ana and heard that Angelique Boyer took on the role of triplets I was immediately intrigued by how they filmed it. Upon further research I discovered that they used body doubles while also using really good editing. Luckily, I was able to find the body doubles for the telenovela and it was so interesting to see what went into the production of the telenovela in order to bring the triplets to life. I also watched many interviews and people were very curious as to how she was able to pull it off. Angelique Boyer was able to give some details as to what helped her. She thanked the production team for helping her with makeup, different aesthetics, and other crew members that helped her have distinct personalities for each triplet that she played. Below I found pictures of behind the scenes of Angelique and her body doubles. For example, the picture that I used is the edited picture and the next one is the unedited version with the body doubles. I also saw in an interview that Angelique Boyer did stunts for the character of Ana Lucia who is an aerialist which I thought really shows her dedication and hard work as an actress. With that being said, the production of Tres Veces Ana can be attributed to the makeup, costume, editing, and acting crew that bring this telenovela to life.

ReplyDeleteIf I am being honest, this telenovela receives so much more credit. I can't imagine how draining it must've been to Angelique to handle the very different personalities of las tres Anas. This also makes me think of how much must've been invested into this production. Given that I've seen many low income Telenovela productions, I think that I sometimes have a negative perception that they were poorly shot due to financial constraints. This telenovela confronts that idea and instead shows me how much wealth is available within the telenovela industry.

Es posible que tenga que ver otra telenovela de Angelique Boyer porque esta actuación suena tan impresionante. Habiendo aprendido un poco sobre la producción de telenovelas, también estoy de acuerdo con el comentario de Brittany. Es interesante preguntarse cómo se verían algunas telenovelas menos exitosas si tuvieran acceso al mismo presupuesto de producción.
ReplyDeleteI have been curious as to how one actor can play two roles in the same show or film ever since I watched Lindsey Lohan in parent trap. It makes sense to me that body doubles would be used, but the editing process is one I would to learn more about. As an EMST major, I understand how difficult and sometimes frustrating editing a film or show can be. I would love to know more about the editor's process and how long it took to edit each episode.

ReplyDeleteAs I was writing my comment I was actually thinking of Parent Trap. It makes me question how modern technology was back then -26 years back. The Parent Trap is only a few years older than me so I am ignorant if this type of editing in the US was experimental. Regardless, even if we don't appreciate how heavily Tres Veces Ana leans into stereotypes, we must applaud it's editing efforts.
